A hybrid and an electric car are different. An electric car runs off the energy stored in the electric battery. A hybrid has a combustion engine and burns fossil fuels to charge the battery. A hybrid vehicle is a steppingstone for some in the transition to electric vehicles, but they still have all the parts and maintenance of a combustion engine and use fossil fuels.
At the Drive Electric NL Resource Centre, we are promoting the adoption of electric vehicles as the best long term transportation choice. We do not list hybrid models or specs in our resources.
