Having an electric vehicle in our climate will be much the same as your current car. The cars are designed to be safe in the rain and snow. You will have better traction control due to the low center of gravity and the advanced traction control systems that can respond more quickly with electric motors.

Even if you don't have a garage, the battery will be safe and the car will be even happier if you leave it plugged in overnight so it can be charged and ready to go in the morning while providing the best conditions for the batteries in the cold. Our Resource Centre Coordinator has never put her electric car in a garage but she can set it to have the seats heated and the ice and snow melted at the time she wants to leave each morning.
